Welcome

For two decades, Maria Hall has represented individuals facing discrimination and harassment in employment, housing and education matters.

In a recent dispute that did not settle before a trial, an arbitrator awarded her client -- an employee who was subjected to severe discrimination and retaliation at work -- a significant (confidential) sum for lost wages and emotional distress damages. The arbitrator also ordered the employer to pay the employee's attorney's fees, and computed Maria's "reasonable hourly rate" at $800.00 per hour.

In addition to running her practice, Maria leads the Los Angeles + Orange County Incubator Consortium. In that capacity, she provides structure, mentorship and a competitive edge for new solo lawyers who aim to serve clients who cannot find legal help due to financial and cultural barriers. Since 2015, the incubator has supported the launch of 115 solo law firms, owned by lawyers representing 31 different language fluencies, who have collectively volunteered over 12,500 pro bono hours to help people navigate through legal crises who otherwise would have had little or no access to legal services. Most importantly, the incubator has created an ecosystem where lawyers can follow their passion to serve the community while supporting themselves financially.

For her dedication to public service, Maria has won numerous awards and recognitions, including the following:
